Weekend is over and it is back to a more regular schedule at the Royal Alex. Jigger got a great session with his physio today, great to be back at his HOP workout. The kids spent most of the day at the hospital and got to spend some quality time with Mom and Dad.

Jason is still in a private room and Colette and Jason are enjoying that much more. Jigger is hoping to have the trake out soon and enjoy a HUGE glass of water! Visiting hours are from 11 to 8!! but Colette has been working the nurses to come in early and stay late! Good job Colette!

Will be up tomorrow to see Jigger and Colette! Keep up the hard work.

January 30th 2011

Jigger had a very relaxing day! Streeter got to visit with him and catch him up on work and the Hawtins stopped by to see what was happening!The kids have a PD day tomorrow so they are up tonight to spend some time with Dad.Still have the private room and it is looking good to stay where they are at for a while?
Now that the weekend is over Jigger is hoping to get back to the Work out he has been doing with Physio!

Just want to take a minute to thank Lacombe Ringette association and Lacombe Minor Hockey and Central Alberta AA ringette for all the wonderful baskets, cards and thoughts that have been sent our way in the past few weeks they are so much appreciated more than you know. And thank you to everyone for their support through this hard work!

Sorry about the late update! Jigger got his wish today and is in a private room with an air bed! Rules are still in effect but in true Lunn fashion we are stretching them to the MAX! Colette did not get kicked out until she was ready to leave! Atta Girl!! Jigger was happy to see the sun shining today and just have a relaxing Saturday with Colette and Jenny.

Ok Jigger i have been plowing snow since I got home! And I keep chasing those so called ridges and I give up! Not sure what you get out of it but Hurry up and get back here! GL

Big move today! Down the hall and into Unit 33 Recovery. Little more room but has a cozy 4 bed set up!
Jason and Colette are hoping for a private room to open up tomorrow? The new ward has rules attached, apparently! Visiting hours are from 11 - 8 pm and they are not too flexable about it. Not much of a sense of humor either?
Jigger worked hard with physio today so was ready for an early night and a good sleep. He was rocking out to ACDC with the nurse's this morning

Jigger has had two incredible days! But with all the exciting new advances he is tired this afternoon. Jason got to sit in his chair again today but no tour of the hallways, not enough staff on today I guess? They have given him the green light as soon as a bed opens up in Recovery he is out of ICU!! Could be up to 2 or 3 days depending on availability? But he is excited to have a window so he is good with that!

I told him about Keily Wilson reading the blog about Coach Jigger every moring before she goes to school. Then I told him about all the people reading this blog and posting comments and he wanted to thank everyone so very much it is helping him more than you will ever know!

Lets hope tomorrow he can move down the Hall to Recovery and go on tour in his chair again!

This morning Colette let me know Jigger had a huge night! He had his speaking valve on the entire night with no problems and slept very comfortable!Had a great session with physio, got a new bed again and sat up in the Royal Alex Lazy Boy!

Then Jigger went into overdrive!He talked them into putting him in a wheelchair to get a tour of the Hospital and even got a look outside at the last few rays of sunshine today. Grandma Dea was there too and said it was awesome and you could not wipe the smile of Jiggers face!

If he keeps this pace up ICU will be in the dust in no time! Great job Jigger I will be heading up in the morning to see for myself. Yes I will bring you a D&M hat up!

January 25th 2011

We got to spend 3-4 hours with Jigger and Colette today and they are both doing awesome! Jigger has made friends with most of his nurses and physio therapists, and it is great to see him smile. He is doing great with his speaking valve and lasting longer with it on everyday. He keeps pushing longer with his physio workouts and is seeing great results each day. Jigger just keeps dreaming of an Ice cold glass of water? Or BEER!
Jigger needed to get a work update about D&M and was also asking about LLL Trucking so Brett had to give him a update in person! I think Brett just wanted to ditch work today but it was great to have him there today. Once he gets out of ICU he will be able to see more visitors and the way he is working it won't be long!

Jason and Colette just want to thank everyone for their thoughtful gifts that have found their way up to them as well as the supplies that have been brought over to John and Sharon's for the kids!

And a huge Thankyou from the entire Lunn family for all the calls, emails and the comments on this blog.

 Please keep them coming it is something we all enjoy to read.

It looks like it is starting to be a challenge for Jigger to see how long he can keep the speaking valve in each day! He made it 12 hours today and was still going strong. Physio was going for 10 minutes of treatments and Jigger said NO! Lets make it 20! Keep up the great work Jigger and you will be out of ICU real soon.

Jigger just keeps pushing hard. He went 4 hours with the speaking valve this morning and had it back in at 3 again and he wants to push through till 10 pm tonight! That a Boy Jig!

Just want to thank everyone for there comments and emails it is great to hear from everyone. And the snacks and meals that have found their way to Colette and the kids. THANK YOU

Jigger has his days filled with physio and movment from his bed to his chair.He is also keeping the speaking valve in longer everytime he gets a chance to use it. His spirits are good and he has been joking with his nurses. He is in a double room now so it is very tight quarters, but it is one step closer to leaving ICU!

We brought the kids back home today and they will be staying with John and Sharon so the can get back in their school routine this week.Jigger was happy that they could get back to Lacombe and he can work hard on his recovery.

January 21st 2011

Jigger had a great day today. Grandma Dea got to spend a couple hours alone with him today and Colette and the kids got to talk with him with the speaking valve in for 2 1/2 hours. Great job Jigger!
He also got to sit up in the Royal Alex version of a LAZY BOY! A stretcher chair nothing but smiles!
Kens and Bryn got to see Jason again after a few days and cant belive how good he looks and what he is able to do? He wanted to have a dance and he was making the whole bed rock as he was shaking his arms!

Jasons progress is very dependant on the rest he gets everyday right now. He cant wait to see everyone and hopefully in the next few weeks he can have more visitors come see him. Keep the comments coming Colette is reading each last one!

Jigger is working very hard which is making him very tired so he is sleeping good each night! Colette is very happy with the nurse's that are with Jason everyday they are AWESOME! Keep up the great work Jigger!

Another good day for Jigger but he is working hard and getting tired! He had a session with physio today so he will be ready to sleep good tonight! Speaking valve was in again today so we got hear his voice and chat with him for a while! Rest up tonight and fight again tomorrow!

Jason just had a speaking Valve attached to his trake! He can talk and is very relieved! He says it feels like #*##*ing freedom! He has been positioned in a sitting position and looks and sounds like our JIGGER! More good stuff to come.

Huge Day today! Jigger got a new bed so he is much more comfortable. Cadence says "Jigger is doing awesome and is still DAD! Greg spent the last hour with him and he needed a work update. Still the organizer! He is very happy along with Greg that we have such AWESOME staff that have really stepped up to help us out! Every hour we see more improvements! Keep doing what you are doing! It is working.

9:30 pm - Jigger had a big day today. Progressing very positive. He got to see Cadence, Ryker, and Griffin today, that alone gave him a big lift. Day by day he will continue to amaze us all.

Jigger is looking great this morning!! If you can believe it he is doing his own version of HOP, arm curls. He is headed for a CT  today for a post surgery update. The surgeon said we will have a better idea after 72 hours of recovery.

8:30 am - Waiting for surgery to stabilize his neck.

9:30 am - Went for an MRI, will prep for surgery this afternoon

12:00 pm - Jason went into surgery, it should take about 8 - 12 hours. They will be operating on the C6 and C7 vertebra.

4:15 pm - Surgery is done, went better than expected. Headed to ICU to start recovery.

5:30 pm - Jason has opened his eyes and gave Greg a wink

Jason is stable in the ICU. He has a fractured spine and we are waiting for surgery.
